PRESS RELEASE: Cleantech Innovate 2019 announces partnership with Mayor of London’s Better Futures

  • Mayor of London project will partner cleantech investment event
  • Annual showcase connects most promising environmental technologies with investors
  • Cleantech Innovate 2019 to take place Tuesday at Royal Horticultural Halls in London

Mayor of London project Better Futures is partnering with Cleantech Innovate 2019, a showcase for environmental technologies taking place on 30th April at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London, it has been announced today.

Better Futures is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and works with partners to give 100 small cleantech businesses the boost they need to be successful in London and create a hub for low-carbon industries in the city.

Cleantech Innovate 2019 aims to connect the most promising environmental technologies that will accelerate results for a more sustainable future with impact investors looking for both a good return and a measurable and beneficial environmental impact. A range of shortlisted entrepreneurs will pitch their technologies to a room full of investors in a series of themed sessions covering energy, food, transport, water, waste, and shelter.

Members of the Better Futures team from City Hall will give a presentation at the event on creating opportunities for cleantech growth in London and discuss how the project supports cleantech entrepreneurs.

The event will also feature workshops designed to support cleantech entrepreneurs looking to grow their business and will close with the presentation of the ‘Game-Changer Prize’, which will recognise the technology with the greatest potential to have a revolutionary impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and/or improving resource use worldwide.

Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of We Are Orchard, who are organising Cleantech Innovate 2019, said:

“Cleantech Innovate shares Better Futures’ goal of supporting the most ground-breaking and exciting cleantech innovators who can take the lead in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and tackling climate change.

“We’re delighted to have Better Futures as a partner for the event and we look forward to seeing how some of the most innovative, game-changing technologies can support London and the rest of the UK in moving to a greener, more circular economy.”
